Autumn has arrived on Lake Garda, bringing great colors and unique smells.
In this early morning, autumn has the taste of something new here in Ohana Holidays, something like a vegan apple tart.
While I am writing, its smell comes out of the oven spreading around the house, as we cannot wait to taste the tart.
Our guests are going to wake up soon, finding this delicacy still warm.
I will take notes of the ingredients I used this morning, trying to give the recipe the taste of the tradition, while adding an original and, absolutely vegan, touch.
I always love to experiment so that every breakfast is unique and able to give us a brand new sensation. Now, do you have your pen with you?
INGREDIENTS
200 g of semi-wholegrain or type “0” flour
200 g of thinly ground white almonds
1 vanilla teaspoon
1 natural yeast bag (or cream of tartar)
A pinch of salt
4 tablespoons of malt rice
9-10 tablespoons of soy milk
1 lemon (only the zest)
4-5 chopped apples
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: about 45 minutes
You can make it so easily that it is ideal for a sweet waking up to the ones you love, or a romantic weekend.
VEGAN TART DIRECTIONS:
Peel the apples, cut them into pieces and keep them aside. Then, mix into a bowl all the dry ingredients; separately stir the liquid ones and finally combine all of them, mixing everything properly.
I recommend you to add the apple pieces only at the end, so that your vegan apple tart will both taste good and look stunning.
Pour the dough in a baking tray that you will have oiled and floured before, being careful to make it two fingers thick; bake it at 180° for about 45 minutes, until the surface color is golden.
Can you smell it too? I am waiting for you to taste it together!
